Benjamin Franklin published his "Poor Richard's Almanack" under the name Richard Saunders, who Franklin said was a poor man who needed money to take care of his wife. Franklin's almanac was full of humorous musings, famous phrases and not-so-famous phrases such as, "Men and Melons are hard to know."
