This document, a reproduction of the Irish Proclamation of Independence, was signed on April 24, 1916. Irish nationalists created a revolutionary state called The Irish Republic and issued the Irish Proclamation of Independence in an effort to free Ireland from British rule. The attempt was ultimately unsuccessful, and all seven of the men who signed this document were executed.
